Skills-Based Volunteering is not a new way of doing volunteering.

Skills-Based Volunteer

Skills-Based Volunteering is the way of doing volunteering. Skills-based volunteering utilizes your skills, experience, talents and education and matches them with the needs of non-profits. Connecting you with the right skills to the right project at the right time will allow getting a greater impact and building stronger relationships between volunteers and the non-profit sector. Therefore it means increasing your interest to do ongoing projects for the already known organisation. You can assist with planned projects or respond to immediate critical needs. Bali Studies focuses on the value of your time by ensuring that it is used to create real results.

The impact of a skills-based program on the work of a non-profit depends closely on effective implementation. Non-profits and companies can take steps to ensure the standards of Bali Studies Volunteer Program. Bali offer a wide range of volunteer projects:

Online Volunteer

You will not be asked to be physically present at any specific location. The Online Volunteer connects organisations working for sustainable development with volunteers. Organisations collaborate with volunteers over the Internet to strengthen the impact of their development work.

Host Organisations

Some organisations offer you to live in dormitory style volunteer house, located on the project site or in the neighborhood, and in remote locations, permanent tents (with electricity). Common are rooms with two beds. The accommodations are safe, secure and clean, but you should be comfortable sharing rooms with other volunteer of the same gender. The rooms are clean, comfortable and equiped with electricity and water.

For couples, private rooms in the volunteer house can be requested as well as an accommodation upgrade in a private house for an extra cost. Both options are subject to availability at the time.

It is common that the volunteer care about their daily food. Some are providing meals, which are prepared by local staff in the volunteer houses and are served during the week. Indonesian food is tasty and diverse. If you wish to eat out, there are several so called warungs and food stalls to suit all tastes and budgets. If you have any special eating requirements, please let us know ahead of time so that we can make arrangements for you.

Volunteer experience a lot more than the average backpacker, surfer or package tourist. After works and during the weekends, you have time to relax, to take a look around or take the opportunity to explore Indonesia.

Volunteer Eligibility

All programs are open to all interest with different background and education level. Many students take a year off before jumping into the work force or heading to graduate school. The volunteer placements have no limit in age or knowledge.

With registration for the volunteer program, an one-time administration fee is applicable. Any additional fee will go directly to the local organisation. We are a group of idialist, our interest lies in supporting the social organisations and help them in their projecs. Program fees are due 30 days prior to the beginning of the volunteer's program placement.
